What is the Big CISO Shoot 2025?

"What an enjoyable event!

You can see the conversations being had - I think because it's something different. Not many people are used to clay pigeon shooting days, they're used to dinners or golf days.

So being invited to something new is really appealing."

Beyond assumptions: the data-driven truth about AppSec vulnerability detection methods

This year our panel discussions & fireside chats will be centred around continuous security testing in application security.

Manual security testing is known for it's depth, while automated tools are prized for their breadth. But how effective are they, really?

According to our research, only 80% of vulnerability types can be found by automated scanners. Meaning 20% of vulnerabilities (including business logic flaws and access control issues) are left to manual tests, typically much too expensive and excessive to run on a continuous basis.

And so where does that leave the concept of true continuous testing in applications?

For cyber security leaders and their teams

In May 2024, the first Big CISO Shoot was held.

Over thirty cyber security leaders descended on Holland & Holland shooting grounds in London for a morning of guided clay pigeon shooting, a three course lunch, and an afternoon of industry leading cyber presentations.

And this year, we're bringing it back, bigger and better!

9.50am - Split into teams and safety briefings from the instructors

10am - Let the games commence! Teams of 4/5 head to the grounds with their designated instructor. With awards to end the day, the competition begins...

1pm - Lunch is served. Re-energise over a three-course lunch and open bar.

3pm - Panel discussions, fireside chats and the morning's awards

5pm - Say our goodbyes and head home
